This elegant wedding was all the things that winter wedding dreams are made of! Rich jewel tones, stunning bouquets + florals, a cozy but grand venue, a quiet snowfall and all the love and excitement you can imagine. I was quite excited for this wedding as it was a family wedding. Hannah, the bride, is my husband's cousin, and when you get to celebrate along side friends and family, it makes the whole day just a bit more special.
I arrived at the church shortly before the ceremony was to take place, and I think I gasped when I saw how they had decorated the stage. The sweet pine smell, that we all know and love, greeted me as I peeked in the sanctuary doors for the first time - they truly brought the outdoors in! The ceremony was a beautiful - there was a few chuckles, definitely some tears and a lot of smiles as Caleb and Hannah promised their lives to each other.
We did a few photos with their grandparents at the church before heading out to the venue, Demmitt Hall. While the sun was quite warm and bright in Grande Prairie, it started to snow shortly before we all arrived at the hall, and I think we were all thrilled! The entrance way was the perfect spot to complete the family, bridal party and even some of the bride and grooms portraits before guests began to arrive. The hall by itself is beautiful, but with decorations of Edison bulb string lights, mossy table runners, pinecones + candles, fancy napkins + elegant table settings, the reception space looked like vision straight out a magazine. We utilized most areas of the venue as we did a few more portraits of just the newlyweds and then it was time to start the party!
Caleb and Hannah had opted for no receiving line at the church, so they greeted their guests as they came into the reception to be seated, which I thought was a super sweet way to say hi and thank each of them for coming. Dinner and dessert, catered by The Black Market Food Co. was ABSOLUTELY delicious! A few speeches and thank you's later and it was time to cut the cake, which was made by one of the Hannah's talented friend's (you'll have to keep scrolling to see the cutest little cake toppers). The cake was served and then it was time for the first dance. A hush fell over the room as the music began and the couple took to the dance floor. Such a sweet and intimate few minutes as they spun each other around while their friends and family watched. Once they completed the dance, the music switched gears and it was party time! Couples began to join them on the dance floor, everything from slower love songs to the classic Cadillac Ranch, to some Spanish number (that was actually really catchy!). What a night, and what a day!
Caleb and Hannah, I feel so grateful + thankful to have celebrated with you and capture your wedding day! Praying blessings over your marriage as you learn to love and serve each other, enjoying all aspects of marriage to the fullest!
